Olympic candidacy: Kiel as a sailing venue

Germany is planning to reapply to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games and is considering four possible host regions: Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Cologne-Rhine-Ruhr. Regardless of which region is ultimately selected, Kiel will remain an integral part of the plans for the sailing competitions in every case.

On 19 April 2026, the citizens of Kiel will decide whether the city should participate in Germany's Olympic and Paralympic candidacy.
